
Ujjain has floated a RFP (request for proposals) for the implementation, management and maintenance of smart classrooms in the city of Ujjain.
The RFP focuses on implementation of smart classrooms in select government schools in Ujjain, and its operation, training and maintenance for a period of 3 years.
The scope of work for smart classrooms in government schools includes: Design, development, customization of multimedia content for subjects; procurement and installation of hardware, software, networking (including Wi-Fi) and other equipment related to smart classroom;
training and handholding; management, maintenance and updating of hardware, software and content; helpdesk service & online MIS and dashboard.
The bidder will procure and install all the commercial software required for the computer systems, namely, operating system, database, application software etc. The content will be based on MP State Board for classes I to XII of all subjects.
The content should include short audio, pictures, text, interactive media and video snippets, including 2D and 3D animations, graphics, audio and video. The whole system is recommended to work on SaaS (software as a service model) where education is available on the local computer and computer is updated online in real time.
For smart classrooms, the focus is on secure Wi-Fi network for each campus. The security of the network would be ensured through unified threat management (UTM) and access to the unethical content like pornography, uTorrent, hacking websites, etc. would be restricted in the network.
