The Union Minister of state for HRD, Electronics, Communications and IT, Government of India Sanjay Dhotre today inaugurated Bharat Air Fiber, a last mile telecom connectivity solution based on radio network, in Akola and Washim districts of Maharashtra.
With the inauguration of Bharat Air Fibre services, residents of Akola and Washim district will get wireless internet connections on demand at an affordable price.
The Bharat Air Fibre services are introduced by BSNL and aims to provide wireless connectivity in the range of 20 Km from the BSNL locations and thus customers at remote places also will be benefited with the support of Telecom Infrastructure Partners (TIPs).
BSNL is providing Bharat Air Fibre services through local business partners of BSNL for Akola and Washim district and these services will give fast Internet connectivity in quick time. Bharat Air Fibre also provides unlimited free voice calling. In terms of speed, Bharat Air Fibre provides connectivity of up to 100 Mbps speed.
BSNL is successfully providing landline/broadband and Fibre FTTH connections. In the month of July 2020, BSNL provided 15,000 FTTH connections in Maharashtra Circle and 162,000 FTTH connections throughout India.
