The Department of Telecommunications (DoT) has appointed Rajiv Gupta as the new Chairman and Managing Director of Telecommunications Consultants India Limited (TCIL).
Rajiv Gupta has been given an additional charge for a period of three months with effect from 1st Sept 2019 or until further orders or till the appointment of regular incumbent whichever is the earliest.
A telecom veteran with 34 years of industry experience, Rajiv Gupta is a 1982 batch Indian Telecommunication Service Officer. He is an alumnus of Delhi College of Engineering with a Post graduate Diploma in Management in Public Policy & Management from MDI, Gurgaon.
Rajiv Gupta started his career with the Mahanagar Telephone Nigam Limited (MTNL) before moving to Bharat Sanchar Nigam Limited (BSNL) and joined TCIL in 2015.
In TCIL, Rajiv Gupta has held several senior management positions including Project Director Oman on the Gulf projects and Executive Director (HRD), Deputy Director General (Public Grievances) among others. He also holds the position of Appellate Authority for RTI at TCIL.
Rajiv Gupta’s immediate priority will be to drive TCIL’s Initial Public Offering (IPO) where the focus is to get around Rs. 1,500 crore.
