To stimulate the adoption of .Bharat (IDN) domain name and proliferation of local language content, National Internet Exchange of India (NIXI) is coming up with a website contest in local/regional language.
The contest is created especially for website designers where the task will be to design and create websites in any of the 22 languages of IDNs. The new IDN website with a good content and at least 5,000 visitor’s traffic in the six months period since its launch will be shortlisted for each language.
An empowered committee which will have representations from all concerned subject matter experts will decide the winner. The theme of the contest would be “Atmanirbhar Bharat” or “Vocal for Local”, in line with the initiative of Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
A reward prize of Rs. one lakh per website per language will be given to the winners and the website category included are: IT, news, entertainment, literature, academia, utility services (any level) etc.
Minimum five websites per language for competition shall be required and website submitted should be operational for at least 3 months. Entries to be submitted along with supporting and verifiable data by 5th June 2021.
NIXI is a not for profit organisation working since 2003 for spreading the internet technology to the citizens of India through Internet Exchanges through which the internet data is exchanged amongst ISPs and between ISPs and CDNs; Selling, managing and operation of .IN country code domain and .Bharat IDN domain for India; and Selling, managing and operating Internet protocol (IPv4/IPv6) as authorised by APNIC, Australia.
