
The National Highways Authority of India (NHAI) is setting up Central Command & Control Centre at NHAI headquarter connected with regional offices for CCTV surveillance & monitoring of vehicular congestion on 210 fee plazas of national highways.
The Minister of State for Road Transport and Shipping and Chemical & Fertilizers Mansukh L. Mandaviya in a written reply to a question in Lok Sabha said, “Government has planned to install video surveillance system in all toll plazas to monitor traffic.”
The National Highways Authority of India (NHAI) had invited e-bids from eligible bidders for setting up Central Command & Control Centre at NHAI-HQ and the project execution is on service model and the period of engagement is five years.
The government has identified the toll plazas where this system will be installed in first phase. A total of 210 number of fee plazas have been selected for implementation of this project. The government has awarded the bid to L1 bidder at a total cost of Rs. 36 crore for complete turnkey solution for setting up Central Command & Control Centre.
