Kumbh Mela 2019 in Prayagraj will witness a tech-savvy Kumbh this year as around WiFi 4,000 hotspots are being set up across the mela area for providing high speed WiFi for all pilgrims and visitors.
The WiFi service is provided in 10×10 square kilometre and is free says Naresh Pratap Singh of Hulsberg Enterprises, the company who is deploying WiFi service in the Mela region.
It is expected that there will be reliable, robust and redundant network connectivity with sufficient network capacity for current and future bandwidth requirements of Kumbh Mela 2019 according to Singh.
The service is expected to help devotees share their experience related to the vast religious gathering with their near and dear ones through the internet and mobile phones. This is in line with the state’s aim to make Kumbh 2019 a smooth and enjoyable hassle-free experience for pilgrims from all across the world.
An SMS campaign has also been initiated by the Prayagraj Mela Authority for the convenience of pilgrims coming for Kumbh 2019. More than 10 crore SMS will be sent to citizens in 3 phases, providing information on various aspects and facilities available for Kumbh 2019. The SMS campaign is being facilitated by Reliance Jio, Bharti Airtel and Vodafone Idea.
The link found in the message lead the visitor to information of lost-found centres, health, safety, booking of tents, sanitation, food court, ration and vegetable shops etc. Also, links to ticket booking through IRCTC and UPSRTC’s website. Such links are being given for such facilities for the first time.
In addition to visiting the official website on the page that opens with the help of the link, there are also links to Kumbh Mela’s other digital assets in the offing like Mobile app, Facebook, Twitter Instagram and YouTube, where visitor will get most updated and aunthentic information about the Kumbh Mela 2019.
