Govt. allocates Rs. 33.4 crore for E-governance Blockchain Prototype

The Indian government has allocated Rs 33.4 crore for developing E-governance Blockchain prototype.

Rs. 33.4 crores project has been sanctioned by the National Cyber Security Coordination Office to develop a prototype and implementation of a National Blockchain for E-Governance. This project is considered nationally an important project in cyber security.

The project will be carried out by Professor Manindra Agrawal, Department of Computer Science, IIT Kanpur and Professor Sandeep K. Shukla at IIT Kanpur and Shweta Agrawal at IIT Madras. Nationally relevant and important project in cyber security.

Professor Manindra Agrawal is a Padma Shri awardee winner and specializes in theoretical computer science and has research interest in computational complexity theory, computational number theory and algebra. His teaching area includes: algorithm, complexity theory, computational number theory and algebra and cryptography.

Professor Sandeep K. Shukla is from Department of Computer Science, IIT Kanpur and specialises in formal methods, formal verification, model driven engineering, software synthesis, software and hardware design and embedded systems. His research interest includes: cyber security, embedded systems, critical infrastructure, formal methods, embedded software and hardware design, system level languages, smart grid and smart infrastructure.

Professor Shweta Agrawal is assistant professor at IIT Madras and her research interest includes cryptography and information theory.
