COMIO supports Make in India through V-Sun and Hipad

COMIO smartphones begins local assembling through contract manufacturer – V-Sun and Hipad Technology.

 

The two facilities combined will be manufacturing around one million devices over the next six months and will employ close to 600 people.

The facilities will manage end-to-end management, including assembly, packaging, maintenance, testing, quality assurance and warehousing for both the existing as well as upcoming smartphones for the brand across 8 assembly and packaging lines. Out of the 8 assembly and packaging lines 5 will be managed by V-Sun and 3 by Hipad Technology.

On the occasion, Sanjay Kumar Kalirona, CEO & Director, COMIO said, “We have a long-term vision for India and this step towards manufacturing further reinforces our commitment to the government’s ‘Make in India’ campaign. With this initiative, COMIO will be investing Rs. 150 crores in manufacturing over the next two years in India. We look forward to reaching greater heights with our trusted partners- Hipad and V-Sun.”

Headquartered in New Delhi, COMIO caters to the mid-level smartphone segment priced between 6K and 12K. COMIO smartphones are currently available in retail stores across North India and will soon be marking their presence throughout the country. The company plans to strengthen brand presence with a strong network of 30,000 retailers, 800 distributors and 800+ after-sales touch points catering to 500-550 towns.
