BSNL signs with Micromax and Extramarks

BSNL has signed with Micromax and Extramarks to start 4G feature phone bundled for providing online education to its customers as well as to smart city projects across the country.

4G feature phone from Micromax which is branded as “BHARAT-1”, is available at Rs. 2,200 and has all facilities which are required for 4G user. BSNL has bundled a voucher worth Rs. 97 per month which provide unlimited voice and unlimited data to the consumer. This combination of BSNL and Micromax is perhaps one of the most reasonable cost effective mobile bundling available in the market at present.

BSNL has also entered into an agreement with Extramarks India for providing online education to BSNL customers of all school classes as well as all educational boards in the country as well as to smart city projects across the country. Extramarks is not only providing online education in India but in other parts of the country like South Africa, Singapore etc.

Speaking on the occasion, Manoj Sinha, Minister of State for Communications (I/C) said, “India is moving toward a new era of ‘New India’ and ‘Digital India’ project will be main contributor to realizing the dream to new India. Mobile services and other applications like online educations etc. has contributed a big deal in Digital India. I wish best of luck to BSNL.”

Aruna Sundararajan, Secretary said, “BSNL is able to meet the competition very effectively and providing the required stimulus to the market. Online education will help rural population to get the same quality of education content as are being consumed by rural children.

Anupam Shrivastava, CMD, BSNL also expressed his gratitude to both Micromax and Extramarks India for helping BSNL to realize the dream of providing quality telecom services at most affordable price to Indian consumers.

BSNL provides integrated telecom service with more than 100 million mobile customers, 10 million broadband customers, and 16 million landline customers. BSNL is also providing various enterprise services like leased line, VSAT and managed services. Recently BSNL has also taken steps to play a major role in smart city and Virtual Network Operation (VNOs).
