Petya ransomware cyber attack has affected companies like A. P. Moller - Maersk, Modelez and Merck located in Europe and the United States

A. P. Moller – Maersk, Mondelez International and Merck have been affected by Petya ransomware cyber attack.

Petya ransomware cyber attack has affected companies both in Europe and the United States. It is the second major cyber attack after WannaCry ransomware attack.

Merck is a global healthcare company with a 125 year history has confirmed in a tweet about its computer network being compromised by global hack.

A.P. Moller – Maersk is an integrated transport and logistics company with multiple brands and is a global leader in container shipping and ports. Including a stand-alone Energy division, the company employs roughly 88,000 employees across operations in 130 countries has also confirmed in a series of tweet about its IT systems being down across multiple sites and business units due to a cyber attack.

Even Mondelez International which is building the best snacking company in the world and is world leader in biscuits, chocolate, gum, candy and powdered beverages with 2016 net revenues of approximately $26 billion and presence in approximately 165 countries has been affected by cyber attack.

Mondelez International confirms in a tweet about their IT systems experiencing outage. “Our network is currently experiencing an IT outage. We’re working to resolve the situation ASAP.”
